The 2008 vintage produced an abundant vintage in Marlborough, however at Tupari we deliberately targeted smaller yields at pruning by leaving fewer buds per vine. The benefits of smaller yields in 2008 were an earlier harvest date, which meant we harvested before any rain, and good concentration of flavour. The palate weight of this Sauvignon Blanc also benefited from undercropping.
The Tupari style is one of understated elegance with intensity of flavour and fine palate structure. This is a wine that is made to accompany food and not overpower it. By extending the time spent on lees, we have created a “creaminess” on the palate to add to the texture. The 2008 Tupari Sauvignon Blanc shows lifted citrus blossom and fresh peach notes on the nose. The creamy palate has rich mineral/citrus flavours and the wine is underpinned by a crisp acidity. This wine can be drunk now and over the next three years. Try with goat cheese and onion tart. Reviews: Charmian Smith - Otago Daily Times Score: 5 Stars (out of five) "...this has a complex attractive aroma with hints of tropical fruit, melon, herbs and mineral, a textural mouth-filling intensity and a bright finish with an aftertaste that creeps up on you. A seriously good wine from Glenn Thomas..."

Powerful wine in a mouth-filling style and with seamless integration of acidity and sweetness."
